Positive Autistic Identity

I’ve been doing some reading on Identity first language and the importance of our sons being proud of their identity. Theo is diagnosed Autistic and Oscar is on the pathway to diagnosis. My wish for both of them is that they grow up confident in who they are. 

Theo is Autistic. It’s not a label, it’s part of who he is. It can be considered a signpost to his needs or an explanation for what his needs might be and it is part of what makes him his unique, special and wonderful self. 

This design is based on some of the reading I’ve been doing around Identity first language and building self esteem and well being through a positive sense of self.
